Song Origin
Mike Robertson wrote a poem called "Mother's
Love" in December of 1993 to pay tribute to his mother, who had
been operated on for pancreatic cancer, and
for his grandmother, (mother's mother), who had recently passed
away.
This poem was turned into a song the week
before Mother's
Day in 1995. The song was then sung at the
Bolivar Methodist Church for Mike's unsuspecting mother on Mother's Day
1995. The singing of this song left the minister speechless, and the
entire congregation in tears.
Mike's mother passed away February 13, 1996,
and never
heard the song sung again.
The present arrangement was created in February of 1998, because friends
and relatives wanted a copy of this beautiful song. Those who worked
on the arrangement also liked the song, and they encouraged Mike to make
it available to the public.
Hundreds of copies of this one of a kind song have been sold -- there
simply is no song like it anywhere.
